Jon Freeman

Founder Director

Jon helps organisations make decisions that remain resilient when the future is uncertain.

For more than two decades, he has helped organisations navigate uncertainty, long-term change and strategic disruption across climate, energy, security and sustainability.

At bp, he introduced foresight methods into strategic decision-making and worked on energy transition pathways involving hydrogen and carbon capture. Previously, he led futures and resilience work at RAND Europe and advised government on long-term strategic risks, climate resilience and environmental change.

Jon's work enables organisations to act with confidence without having to bet on a single future.

Matthew Duhan

Founder Director

Matt helps organisations understand how politics, policy, capital and public pressure shape their strategic choices.

At bp, he worked across strategy, ESG, capital markets and external affairs. Under the Chief Economist, he led work for the executive and board stress-testing strategy against different transition dynamics and identifying where commitments could fail.

Before bp, Matt founded and led the Energy practice at Global Counsel, advising CEOs and senior teams on political, policy and regulatory uncertainty.

Matt's focus is recognising the assumptions shaping decisions before they harden into commitments.
